Nowadays, medicine and healthcare require the support of many experts, technicians, diagnostic and scientific assistants of various specializations which broadly constitute the allied health sciences and para medical corps of professionals. Medicine and health sciences have become more specialized over the years. In this field, the most common career options are in radiology and imaging technology, operation theatre technology, prosthetics and orthotists, nursing, pathology, speech and language therapy, medical lab technology, and optometry.
The Atia School of Paramedics provides standard technical education to various categories of Paramedics. It is committed to produce competent health workers and technicians, who can effectively assist medical professionals, thus increasing the skilled manpower in the country.
Diploma courses in various disciplines of Paramedical Technologies extend over a period of one to two years, which conforms to the requirements of Pakistan Medical Faculty. Students entering these programs are required to have a minimum qualification of Higher Secondary School Certificate or Secondary School Certificate or equivalent.
Married and unmarried, male and female residents of Sindh of ages between 15 and 30 years who have passed Matriculation or its equivalent examination (Science Biology Group) and secured at least 50% marks are eligible to apply for paramedical courses.
An aptitude test will be conducted. Successful candidates will be called for an interview. Admission will be granted on merit only. The test will be held in Karachi. The duration of the course is one year. Successful candidates shall undergo medical examination which will be done at the institution, and admission will depend on having been declared medically fit.
Media of instruction and languages of examination are English and Urdu.
